Greetings from the Order and Ordinance. This is our third Sacred Day of Lord Kurakku’s Period of Watching, and as such, we will continue our doctrinal discussion around the Kurakkuian Xyphozon. Last time, we revisited the origins of Divine Punishment and the power of issuing divine curses. Today, we will explain more about the concept of Terigath’s Hell and the Azure Flames and elaborate on the reputable “coldness” of them. Let’s begin.
To start, let’s revisit the visual aspects of Terigath, which are described in this Commentary. To recap, the surface level of the Sacred Realm of Terigath is desolate, dark, and consists of shabby fishing-shanty like villages sitting on a barren dried out seaside or basin; tall eldritch and jagged structures protrude from the landscape, and cracks or fissures in the land that leak out flares of Azure Flames reveal the underbelly of the realm—the cavernous deep chambers and corridors of Hell itself. From that description alone, one can interpret Terigath’s Hell not as a “fire and brimstone” realm but as a cold, melancholy, and miserable location in which the souls of the damned are sentenced for an eternity in Hell within.
When revisiting this Commentary about the Azure Flames themselves, we learn that Lord Kurakku’s creation of the Azure Flames, as touched on in the last Commentary, was a measure to separate His own wrath and craft that wrath into a divine tool that would actually carry out the punishment in Hell—with His Sentinel Angels of Punishment being the administrators of that Punishment. This is also notable because that concept of separation also extended to both Hayle Mihe and Sacred Child Jaszmisia. When speaking on the case of Hayle Mihe, we are reminded of his history prior to divine ascension. Known infamously as the “Malevolent Spirit,” Mihe was powerful and legendary spirit who held a longstanding feud with the Cario Lordes and spent much of his time eradicating whole scores of them along with his impressive following of other spirits. Mihe’s relentless annoyance and disdain for the Cario Lordes coupled with his ruthless decimation of them is what earned him the title of “malevolent,” although that term was mostly used by those that feared Mihe’s wrath in general.
What is notable about this history is that, as Lord Kurakku’s Hayle, Mihe has absolutely no rule in the management or punishment of Hell itself whatsoever. Hayle Mihe’s official title as an Archangel is the “Keyholder to Hell.” In other words, Mihe’s duty as the Kurakkuian Hayle is to act as the gatekeeper to Hell itself and to forever keep all damned souls within the chambers of Hell itself. Mihe, however, does not participate in the eternal punishment in Hell, and is burdened with the endless screams of the damned in the same way that Lord is. After spending eons waring with the wretched Cario Lordes, Mihe had no interest in being in close contact with evil souls in Hell, and that is reflected in his newfound separation from having to inflict harm upon them; the satisfaction of knowing the damned are forever locked behind a door he has the key to is surely enough.
This further explains the power of divine separation of wrath, as the Lord crafted the Azure Flames with this concept, Hayle Mihe discarded his desire to torment corrupted beings in that same means. And while both the Lord and the Hayle are burdened by the anguished screams of the well-deserved damned souls, both have separated key parts of themselves that would otherwise by ignited by heated wrath in lieu of a colder, more procedural, and eternal reality of Divine Punishment. That separation and coldness is what is seen throughout Terigath and among Divine Punishment within the Philosophy in general. Wrath is cold, rather than fiery, because evil and corruption warrants nothing more than profound condemnation for the lowly acts that are committed in its name. Theigrits will inevitably destroy upon themselves and fall into the pits they dig for others. In terms of the Ordinance and of Xyphoites, it is our duty to cover that pit with the soil they removed and build a better world atop their self-imposed grave. In terms of the Lords, the duty is simple: Divine Punishment.
