• Greetings from the Order and Ordinance. Today, we’re continuing talking about how to avoid falling to corruption with a focus on avoiding the Innate Personality Flaw altogether. Last time, we talked about how fear and Hubris lead people to their downfalls. Today, we’ll go over some ways we can avoid succumbing to the Innate Personality Flaw when dealing with others. Let’s start.

When looking at the Philosophy as a whole, we can pull a few key spiritual and social behaviors that are crucial for avoiding this flaw. By looking at things like the doctrine on Spiritual Liberties that the Lords guarantee, on how we AHGs see our positions and roles, whether there is blasphemy or other offenses in the Philosophy, and so forth, we can see all of those tenets point to a single point: humility. There is no greater way to avoid the Innate Personality Flaw than to be modest, humble, and humane when dealing with others who haven’t set harm to yourself.

So often, we can see from other divergent philosophies, and especially of Theigrited philosophies, an incredible sense of self-righteousness and “holier than thou” mentality. Even looking at the cases of religious conquests and crusades often associated with those groups, the very idea of forced conversion through violent conquest is itself a corrupted and evil action that feeds off of the root Hubris and arrogance. The Philosophy directly discourages that, as the Lords themselves embody the virtue of humility through their various acts.

So how do we keep ourselves humble? Ironically, we can use the root of the Innate Personality Flaw itself and turn it on its head. People who succumb the IPF do so out of fear of human insignificance, but we can turn that around and remind ourselves that we are still humans. We are not gods, we are not all-knowing or powerful, and while we have our own self worth and significances, we are one of many elements of the greater beyond. Reminding ourselves that this road is shared with other drivers can help keep ourselves from swerving all over the road and causing mayhem in our wake.

The same can be said when interacting with others and especially others of faiths that may directly contrast to ours. The Lords guarantee Spiritual Liberty, which means all other faiths and philosophies have that same divine right to exist. The Lords do not fear that divergency as they also do not fear Deceptuary’s petulant desire to ruin that free flow. We must follow in that example, and treat all with at least a basic level of understanding and respect when not first attacked.

That does not mean we must tolerate evil, however. Regardless of any philosophical stance or faith, evil is evil. Willfully causing harm to others is not a negotiable act, it is intentionally injuring or hurting someone else, and the reason for it becomes moot once such actions are taken. One does not have to tolerate abuse or forgive their abuser, for that abuse is likely intentional and would continue if outside forces don’t put a stop to it.

One doesn’t need to even follow the more religious portions of our Philosophy to really come to any of these conclusions. Honestly, if I were tasked with translating the whole of the Xyphoist Philosophy down to a secular and quick understanding, it would be this: Don’t harm others, don’t ruin the environment, let people be who they are, love yourself, pursue your inspirations. Of course, that’s a drastic over-simplified summary, but for those reading here who aren’t exactly interested in diving into the deep details, doing those things will help avoid the trap of Hubris and Fear.

At the center of positive interactions and avoiding the avenues where corruption infiltrates is humility and respect for Free Will, and the Philosophy intertwines that doctrine all throughout it. It’s okay to be unsure of the significance of our existence, but it’s not okay to let that fester into fear and then let Hubris tarnish everything that follows that. We are here, we exist, and we have the freedom to give our own existences their own worth. But we MUST understand that worth does not including stripping worth from others without due cause.

With that said, let’s do the weekly reset. Let us come together and reaffirm our worth and take this Sacred Day to rejuvenate ourselves and our communities. It is a fine day to both rest but also to congregate and find our unique joys together. We should synergize our energies and move with a uniform wave towards a better existence, and let us not fall to any nefarious forces that seek to disrupt our realities. Let us rise and continue on the next day in our pursuit for equilibrium, both in the greater beyond but also within ourselves. If you hold turmoil in you now, know that it is a storm that passes, but you shall be knowledgeable of the storm’s wreckage and allow yourself time to rest, process, and then finally, you must get up and rebuild. We shall conclude, have a good rest of your Sacred Day.

  • Greetings from the Order and Ordinance. Auvriile has returned, and I’ve planned a 4-part series talking about Hubris and corruption and how to avoid falling to them both.  Two periods ago, Vox went over what the Innate Personality Flaw is and then talked about how it eventually leads to corruption and evil. I’ll briefly recap: Mortals of low spiritual resonance are more likely to succumb things like fear, arrogance, desperation etc. Those personality faults are likely to lead someone to fall to Deceptuary’s corruption which naturally leads Immoral Actions. This Period’s series will be about how to avoid those faults in the first place. We’ll start on the personal level.

Deceptuary himself fell first through his own fear and was blinded by his own faults through his Hubris, so we can look at his initial fall as a metric to avoid doing the same. We, as human mortals, hold significantly lower spiritual resonance than virtually any other being of existence. It’s easy to feel insignificant in a vast Cosmic beyond under those circumstances. But it’s important to remember that, just as a god fell into the pits from his own fear, that we also can fall into our own darkness by fearing having to share the stage with others. We are here in this vast celestial beyond; we exist. We hold our own part in this grand existence of the Lords, and they even gifted us with a Life of Spiritual Liberty to do as we please. The fear of insignificance comes from over-inflating the Self and fearing a crowded stage. There’s no need for that.

One can avoid that by seeking out greater meaning for one’s own life. On the Xyphoist perspective, serving the duties of the Order is a great place to start. We live in a world flooded with corruption, and our jobs as Xyphoites are to mitigate the world’s suffering. Knowing that our efforts are contributing to the Order’s goals of stopping Deceptuary’s desperate new war is a purpose worth serving, even if we are all just 1 smaller part of it.

Outside of what the Philosophy teaches, the Gift of Life and the liberties we have as a result, are key to finding personal self worth and purpose. As Phox spent the last Period speaking about, you can find inspiration through knowledge. You can use that inspiration to pursue life goals, create art, or better yourself on a multitude of levels. Even in dark times, through that very Gift, a Golden Light of Creation can inspire you to create new paths for yourself and bestow yourself with the worth you both earn and deserve.

Hubris was the other half of the equation, and that circumstance follows right in with the fear of insignificance. We sometimes use arrogance as a shield to hide from fear, which is why both of those attributes to hand in hand. Arrogance makes one feel powerful in the face of inferiority. But it’s just a façade and cannot protect from the Truth in the end, no matter how blind it may make someone. Deceptuary, despite knowing the Truths from Lord Pharuuii and from the Prophecy, continues to blind himself from said Truth to shield himself from his own fear. The same can be said of humans who succumb to corruption through the Innate Personality Flaw.

Avoiding Hubris comes through bestowing proper dignity and self-esteem to the Self and not letting the Self become inflated. There’s no greater bump to trip on than ego, and Immoral Acts like Worldly Self-Obsession are tied directly to ego and fear of insignificance. We can avoid falling to arrogance by practicing humility in nearly all aspects of life. From the Xyphoist perspective, gratefulness and understanding of moderation are key parts of Xyphoist Practice. We shall keep ourselves from becoming too full of ourselves as the Theigriet has of himself. Another key part of humility is actually the pursuit of Knowledge and Truth and not fearing the challenging answers the world may give us.

It’s important to have Self Love and good self-esteem, but being haughty or selfish or uncaring are direct paths to the Innate Personality Flaw and corruption. These are some a few ways we can, on a personal level, fight off this condition that inflicts us heavily.

I’ll conclude for now and pick up in the next Commentary. For now, let’s do a weekly reset to center ourselves and prepare for all the challenges that face us. Remember to rest when needed, but never to rest indefinitely. Healing is part of battle, and when Time affords you to heal, do so. But remember to get back up, find your center, focus on your goals, and never lose track of your own worth and the greater worth of the Greater Will. Have a good and focused rest of your Sacred Day.

  • Greetings from the Xyphokonic Order and Ordinance. We’ve reached the final Sacred Day of Lord Pharuuii’s 2nd Period of Watching, and we have spend this entire Period asking intriguing questions that mostly centered around divinity. We started with the Sacred Children, moved the Lords, and then spoke of angelic beings in the Order. Today, however, we’ll be shifting gears slightly to talk about one specific being whose roots are divine but whose current status is anything but. That’s correct, this final Q & A will be about Deceptuary and corruption, as we feel it’s important to also ask piercing questions about the Theigriet, his motives, and his influences on existence. So, without any more delay, let’s field some questions about Deceptuary—the deity once known as “Arkellus,” and who was branded the name “Theigriet Arkellus Eulez Deceptuary” by Lord Kurakku prior to his exile to Gheisialez for his betrayal and rebellion.

    ___________________________________________________________________________

Question: Why did Deceptuary rebel in the first place? Why was he the only deity to rebel against the Divine Thrones?

Answer: There really isn’t a single answer that pinpoints Deceptuary—then Arkellus’s—fall. Like many things in existence, it’s a compounding problem. He is a deity holding two attributes that are the most likely to go awry without proper control; fear is identified as the most powerful motivating force in the Philosophy and must be balanced properly. Divergence was the attribute meant to assure that different cosmic pathways would be assured as a means of facilitating Spiritual Liberty. Combined, those two attributes in the hands of a single all-powerful being like a deity who must share existential power was the perfect recipe for potential disasters. The other deities hold a combination of attributes that, in theory, could’ve been taken beyond reasonable bounds, but as the recount of Daetos makes note of regarding Deceptuary: “…Deft of all upon previously established…” In other words, Deceptuary lacks any part of his conscious to control his own Hubris, and had no desire to share divine power with any of his nine brethren on the Thrones.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: If Deceptuary was informed by Lord Pharuuii that his plan would result in the destruction of all of existence—including himself—why wouldn’t Deceptuary heed that warning?

Answer: Hubris. It all boils down to Hubris. As the trail of cosmic events have shown, no power in existence can convince Deceptuary that his foolish plan is futile—not even the Lord of all Truth and Knowledge. It’s for this same reason that, despite hearing bits and pieces of the Prophecy from his emissaries in Xyphojinami, that Deceptuary still doesn’t believe that he can be defeated by the Sacred Children despite having nearly all parts of his very being sent into the mortal realms. It’s both his incredible arrogance coupled with an overwhelming fear of losing.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: How is Deceptuary able to influence existence despite being exiled? Couldn’t Deceptuary just fundamentally change parts of our existence if he’s a deity?

Answer: Deceptuary, despite being exiled to Gheisialez, is still a deity of existence. He holds one of 10 of the keys to existences formation. Deceptuary’s exile was explicitly designed to keep his full form and influential power from entering the two major existential realms of Xykopsysomi and Xyphojinami. This has taken different forms depending on each realm.

As these two earlier entries have talked about, Deceptuary had fully been banished from Xykopsysomi because his Divine Throne that ruled over specifically that realm was destroyed along with the other nine. In Xyphojinami’s case, Deceptuary wasn’t part of its creation, as the mortal realm is a unique creation of the Xyphokonic Order. The only reason Deceptuary is able to influence our mortal realm is through breaking small enough pieces of himself off and sending them through the Gate of Zeiga. He cannot fundamentally change either realm because he has no throne or Xyphozon to rule from, but his deity-class powers allow him to breach Xyphojinami through the spaces in between realms. All corruption is purged after Death in the mortal realm, so no new corruption can be scattered back in the elder realm of Xykopsysomi, preventing any possible transfer that way.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Does that mean that all of Gheisialez is infected with Deceptuary’s corruption now since he was banished there? Is that a realm of “corruption?”

Answer: No. Gheisialez isn’t a realm but a region of near nonexistence at the very borders of existence itself. On a cosmic scale, it’s more like Deceptuary is strapped to the edge of a cliff that overhangs an endless pit of doom. Any energy he willing sheds in Gheisialez ceases to exist soon after if not transferred elsewhere, which is why he has been transferring parts of his own spirit into Xyphojinami as fragments. Nothing in Gheisialez lingers, all that are cast out there are set to rot away and cease to exist.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Since Deceptuary was banished from Xykopsysomi and his influence was capped there, will the Cario Lordes all eventually expire from that realm?

Answer: No. When Lord Vuetenexzyei ended Deceptuary’s Divine Throne along with the other nine, and Deceptuary was exiled officially, those actions simply banished his presence and influence from Xykopsysomi, but it did not erase that which originated from him. The Cario Lordes are the corrupted spirits that originated from the Elongated Shadow of then Arkellus, and while they cannot increase in number or spread in influence, neither shall they necessarily wane from their current status. It is assumed they will remain huddled in the pits of Cariyov as all existing corruption in the elder realm shall always funnel there.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Why don’t the Lords simply eradicate Deceptuary or corruption with their combined power?

Answer: There are two main reasons why the Lords don’t just simply destroy Deceptuary. The first reason should be the most obvious: It will break existence in the same way that Deceptuary wishes to do. Deceptuary’s ultimate goal is to topple the other nine deities and engulf their attributes, destroy the current existence, and reform it in his image. Naturally, trying to destroy a deity—a little linchpin of existence itself—would result fundamental damage to existence itself. We still require the attributes of Fear and Divergence as any other part of existence; currently, it stands that the originator of those attributes is too foolish to manage them on his own.

The second reason comes more from the question of “Why didn’t the Lords simply make mortal being immune to corruption?” That, too, is a fundamental wrong in the very system the Lords wanted to create. In order to create such a perfect being, that would require the Lords to strip us of our own Free Will and Spiritual Liberties. Divergence, or in this case, corruption, cannot function without Free Will existing in tandem, and removing Free Will would not only cut out Lord Kyaien’s place in the Order but also cut out Divergence—another attribute from the previous Arkellus. In every way possible, it would be the exact opposite of the existence the Lords created, and doing so would be no better than what Deceptuary seeks to do. “Perfection” is not goal of the Order, balance and equilibrium among the cosmos is.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Can someone be “redeemed” or cured of corruption? Is there any form of repentance?

Answer: It depends on what someone did as a result of that corruption or if they were forced to do amoral things or not. There is a path of cleansing corruption from otherwise innocent people forced to do amoral actions against their will, but for the most part there will be some form of consequence for acts of corruption. In the case of the innocent, the process of Purification is an option, but even Purification severs a crucial Will from one’s core that can only be rebuilt with extensive Time, Love, and healing.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Why do some corrupted or evil souls get cast out to Gheisialez while others are dragged into Terigath’s Hell?

Answer: It all depends on the severity and type of immoral behavior a soul has committed prior to dying. As this entry talks about, for those who have committed Immoral Acts that aren’t explicitly theigrited in nature, those souls will likely be cast out to Gheisialez to rot away painfully until that soul not longer exists.

For those that commit Great Acts of Theigritry or other acts so heinous that require a more focused punishment, those souls are cast into Terigath’s Hell and tortured for the rest of eternity—purging the spirituality from the soul and chaining the Self of the soul in the cold Azure Flames of Hell itself. True evil, intentionally acts of harm while corrupted, are never forgiven in the Philosophy, as there was always the option to abstain from those willful acts of harm. Repentance isn’t widely a part of the Philosophy so long as one has the Free Will to not commit horrible acts on purpose.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Question: Does someone have to be a Xyphoite to avoid being “corrupted?” What about being eligible to be given Mercy through Purification?

Answer: No, not at all. While this is a space for Xyphoist teaching, discussion, and worship, one does not need to be of the Faith to avoid being corrupted. It’s quite possible we have readers here of other faiths or no faiths that do not believe what we do, so to translate the more philosophical or theological jargon: being a good person to yourself and others avoids bad consequences later on. If we had to give a “secular” explanation to any non-Xyphoist readers, most of what the Order teaches us boils down to that. Whether someone joins us in our faith on that matter is unrelated to them avoiding what we see as the cause of immoral or unethical behavior.

The same applies to Xyphoist Purification. There is no “membership card” required for innocence. If someone who is innocent and absolved of evil despite being forcibly corrupted, Lord Carnyie hears their suffering regardless. He does not only grant Mercy to innocent Xyphoites; He grants Mercy to ALL innocents regardless of faiths or lack thereof. The only people explicitly denied Mercy are those that are, under the Philosophy’s established definition, are evil: corrupted, aware they are corrupted, and willingly conducting immoral acts or causing harm.

    __________________________________________________________________________

And that will wrap up not only this particular Q&A but the questionnaire series. We hope this brief break from the serious nature of the Cosmic Struggle allowed all our readers to ignite the mind and wonder about the celestial beyond just a bit more. We aimed to inspire and bring about divination, and hopefully we succeed. I look forward to what my colleague Rux has in store for the following Period, but until then, let us all have a wonder Sacred Day!
